Stone Collection
Many shades of grey can be found in this collection of handwoven cushions. Yarn is hand spun from the fleece of rare breed sheep like the Scottish North Ronaldsay, which are known for their preference for eating sea weed and the Boreray. Occasionally, cushions are also handwoven from the fleece of my pet Gotland sheep. Design inspiration comes from the grey striped pebbles and boulders found on the sea shore, together with the strata of the cliffs at Robin Hood’s Bay. The decorative woven panels reflect the netting of the crab pots and the colours of the algae ridden cliffs. Soft bands of plant dyed yarn contrast with the natural shades of grey fleece.
