Wall Based Weaving

As I explored the East Coast I became increasingly familiar with the bits and pieces which are washed up on the shoreline. It is sad to see the man-made debris, which becomes intertwined with the seaweed and rocks. However, within this artwork I wanted to reflect the coastal environment and its inter-relationship between the natural and man-made.

‘Lost at Sea’

One July evening, I went to the coast and took photographs of the sea before a gathering storm and collected pieces of debris washed up on the shore. This weaving is a response to the coastal light and all the objects it contains, were gathered on that day.
